Since the untimely demise of Adobe's Imageready, its been huge boost for Adobe's Flash program as its the next best thing for animation next to Imageready.
As more people realize that Imageready is not dead, its just another set of windows, this time, integrated into Creative Suite 3's Photoshop.
In this tutorial we're going to setup a new document for animation and then work with making the animation.
::Outcome::

Open up Photoshop(CS3) and create a new document. I've made a 350x20 pixel image on a transparent background.
Now for each image, we need a new layer. So for each of the following images, we're going to put them on a new layer.

These image each need to be on their own layer, and turned off. To put on their own layer, push the "eye shape" on the left of the layer.
The eye will disappear from it's box once clicked. You should be looking something like the following:

Open up Photoshop(CS3) and create a new document. I've made a 350x20 pixel image on a transparent background.
Now for each image, we need a new layer. So for each of the following images, we're going to put them on a new layer.
The next step is to go to the main toolbar and open up Window and click on Animation. (Unfortunately it doesn't have a standard hotkey.)
The animation window will now be in your workspace, usually near the lower end of your image. You should have a default frame at this point,
with the bottom layer showing.

Now I've highlighted the new frame button, using my stylish vector arrow,
click this button and the same frame will appear but next to it, with a "2" instead of a "1".
Making sure that the second frame is selected, turn on the second layer.
Remember, this can be done by clicking the eye of the second layer.
(My second layer is called "Social Networking", as it helps to name layers as you go)

Now continue to create frames until you have each image in their own frame.
This can be done by repeating the previous process until you have 6 frames, one for each layer.
6 Frames For 6 Images/6 Layers.

Now comes animation. So if you were to push play now it would go through them all super fast,
maybe once then stop or it may keep going. If this isn't repeating itself, and stopping once at frame six,
click on the bottom of the animation palette, where it says once and a menu will appear, make sure it's on forever.
If yours is already set to forever, it's one less thing you have to do.

Now when you push play, it will continue to cycle through the frames. Now lets get the timing correct shall we?
So select the first frame. (For me this is the homepage one) and then click the tween button.
(It's the overlaid circles to the left of the "New Frame Button.) and use the following settings:

ou should have now 5 new frames. (looking through them, 2,3,4,5,6) are all the new fading ones.
So click on 7 and tween again. Use the same settings as before. Now Again Five More Frames.
Now tween (in this exact order) 13,19 and 25. This should leave you with 31 frames.
If you push play at this point, it will will go through all of them smoothly.
Except when it reaches the final one, in my case, videos, it will just jump back to the first frame.
So to make them fade, we're going to copy the first frame by dragging the first frame onto the new frame button.
Your second frame will now be a copy of the first one. Drag your copied first frame to the back, to become frame 32.
Now tween 31 so that it fades to the last frame. Frame 37 is still exactly the same and will only
lag it when looping so we're going to delete it and have a perfect fade going between all frames.
Almost done!! Now click on the first frame, as we want it to sit on the import frames,
we'll change their length by clicking the 0 seconds at the bottom of it. Our frames that need to be changed are 1,7,13,19,25 and 31.
We're going to select 2 Seconds length for these frames. This will how long it waits on the frame before moving through the next frames.

Do this with the previously noted frames. And then the animation is done!! Now is the tricky part of saving it.
To the top toolbar!!! Click file > Save for Web & Devices... Then follow the settings in the next image.
If your lucky they'll be like this already.

Hope you enjoy
