While on your text layer, choose Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss. I used the following settings.
Now lets add a little border to our text. Create a new layer above your text layer, and Ctrl click your text layer to get a selection. Next choose Edit > Stroke and give it a one pixel border in a dark brown.
This isn't looking quite shiny enough for me, so I added another layer. Create a new layer, and Ctrl click your text layer again. Use your circular selection tool, while holding alt, to remove the bottom half of your selection. Next take the gradient tool and add a White - Transparent gradient so that your image looks similar to the one below. Now change the layer mode to "overlay."
Click back to your text layer, we are going to add some shadows. Choose Layer > Layer Style > Dropshadow. I used the settings below.
Your image should look like this by now, or similar.
No gold test is right without a little shine! Lets add a lens flare. Flatten your entire image by choosing Layer > Flatten Image. Next choose Filter > Render > Lens Flare and place it above the first letter in your word. Here is how mine came out!
Hope you enjoy it & learn something new from this tutorial.
