How to create neon filled text effect

In this photoshop tutorial I have used techniques how to use photoshop tools to draw purple neon style text effect.

[1] Take a new file of 400 pixels 300 pixels of resolution 72 dpi in the RGB mode.

[2] Fill the Background with the black color.

[3] Use the Type tool to create your text.

 

[4] Go to Blending Options
apply these settings.

 

[5] Your image should be look like this.

[6] Select the rectagular marqee tool
from the tool pallete.

[7] Draw the rectangle in the file
as shown below in fig.

[8] And now choose the Gradient Editor from the
tool pallete and apply the following settings.

[9] Make the new layer and fill the Gradient color.

[10] Hold the Cntl key and click the
text layer your image like this.

[11] And then Hold the Cntl+Shift+I
and hit the delete key.

[12] Your final image should be look like this.
