This Rounded Edges tutorial shows you how to transform the edges of squares and rectangles into rounded edges.

1. Open a new document. Create a number of different shapes, either seperate or connected to each other. Hold down the Shift Key so that you can make more than one shape at a time, without deselecting others. Fill the shape with White.

2. Press Ctrl+A to Select All. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

3. Set the Radius to 5.5 and click OK. To make corners less rounded reduce the radius number, To make more rounded, increase the number.

4. The Shape should look like this.

5. Press Ctrl+L to bringup Levels dialog box. Apply a setting.( I used input levels to 125, 1.00, and 140)

6. The shape should look like this.

7. Select a texture to fill.

8. Press Ctrl+A to select all and then choose Edit » Define Pattern.

9. Save the pattern.

10. Go to the Channels Palette and CTRL+Click on channel you made to load the selection.

11. Go back to the Layers Palette and make a new layer.

12. Select Edit >Fill > Pattern to fill the selection with the texture.

13. In fill Dialog box select the twirls pattern and click OK.

14. This is the final image.
